Introducing - Hollie Elizabeth Read, Part One

August 19, 2013

This is the second installation of portraits of inspiring young women from my home town.

Having small town roots does not affect how high your dreams can soar.

Hollie is one of my oldest friends we met at school when I first moved to Retford aged 10. We didn't always see eye to eye despite our shared love of dolphins. We grew up and moved on but as teenagers we reconnected over our love of photography, music and brightly coloured hair dye.
In Hollies portraits I wanted to show her strength. She is fiercely independent and has been self-employed since finishing college. In 2009 Hollie set up H.E.R. Vintage and has been touring the country with her eclectic mix of vintage and handmade clothes. She has a beautiful collection of 60's clothes so I've been dying to shoot her vintage style.
I think Hollie is a great example of one of the ways to wear vintage as she does it in such a modern way.
She always looks chic, polished and never without matching jewelry. I'll be posting some of Hollies favorite outfits along the coming weeks along with some more stylish ladies from Retford.
